Who Shot Rock & Roll is an exhibition on rock and roll where photographers are in the foreground. I would say finally ! Photographers were part of the rock-and-roll revolution. Their images show the social and cultural transformations that rock has fostered since the1950s. The exhibition is in six sections:
- behind the scenes
- Careers beginnings
- live performances
- portraits
- album covers etc…
Last but not least, the exhibition takes place at the Brooklyn Museum, a place that should be known by every new-yorker ! Worth seeing it !

Thanks Rachel, to quote you: “finally” some of your interesting take on music and R&R in particular. I’ll definitely check this exhibition. Henry Diltz, amongst others, is a major “picture-teller” of the Laurel Canyon/San Francisco bands in the 60’s & 70’s. For those of your readers who have cable, I’ll recommend to check HBO on Nov. 29th and witness the incredible performances of the R&R Hall Of Fame shows that happened at MSG last week [Springsteen, Aretha, U2, Stevie, Simon & Garfunkel, Metallica, etc.]. Keep informing us musically and intellectually. Go Yankees Go.
