The 8th issue of n+1 has just been released with interesting pieces on gentrification, New left review 1962-present or R we going to Day Alone? This twice yearly journal of politics, literature, and culture represents a side of NYC where the team is based. In 2004, four American Ivy League guys, in their early thrity introduced their literary thoughts to the world and showed how unhappy they were about “… the (…) intellectual scene in the United States“ and they would often cite Lingua Franca and the early years of Partisan Review as models for their journal. New York freaks should know and follow this scene even though they can be irritating sometimes. They like to play the obnoxious thinkers … to stay above the fray. Though, they should know that “universe is expanding“ ! RB
